About the practice

A warm, steady place to land — for kids, teens, and the families who love them.

Has your child been showing signs of sadness or withdrawal? Worry that gets in the way of things they used to enjoy? Has their mood or self-esteem been affecting school, friendships, or how they see themselves?

Dr. Fredericksen works with children and teens navigating anxiety, depression, OCD, low self-esteem, perfectionism, and emotional dysregulation. The work isn't about fixing — it's about helping young people meet overwhelming feelings with courage, and grow a sense of self that isn't built on comparison, but on confidence, resilience, and self-worth.

For parents, that often means a calmer house. For kids, it means feeling more like themselves again.

What we treat

A few of the things we work on together.

Every young person comes in for different reasons. These are some of the common concerns Dr. Fredericksen has spent her career supporting.

01
Anxiety

Worry, school refusal, social fears, panic — and the avoidance that builds around them.

02
Depression

Low mood, withdrawal, loss of interest, the weight that's hard to name.

03
OCD

Intrusive thoughts, compulsions, and the relief that often comes from understanding them.

04
Self-Esteem

Building a sense of worth that isn't borrowed from comparison or external approval.

05
Coping Skills

Tools for the moments that feel too big — at home, at school, on the field, online.

06
Life Transitions

New schools, new siblings, family changes, leaving home — the moments that ask kids to grow.

07
Peer Relationships

Friendship struggles, conflict, fitting in, and learning what healthy connection looks like.

08
Perfectionism

The cost of "having to be good" — academically, socially, athletically.

09
ADD / ADHD

Supporting focus, regulation, self-understanding, and confidence around how their mind works.
